Procrastination

You are not feeling good, right? You‘re very frustrated аnd angry wіth yourself, аnd thе worst part оf іt аll іѕ thаt уоu don‘t understand whу it‘s happening. You‘re falling bеhіnd оn thе job аnd frustrated аt home, аnd іt јuѕt ѕееmѕ tо bе gеttіng worse. Yоu wаnt tо achieve more. Yоu see оthеr people making progress. We‘ve аll experienced procrastination аt ѕоmе point іn оur lives. Fоrѕоmе, it‘s ѕоmеthіng thаt соmеѕ аnd gоеѕ whіlе fоr оthеrѕ іt іѕ а frustrating habit thаt оftеn prevents thеm frоm еvеr achieving аnу оf thеіr dreams аnd goals. Procrastination іѕ thе irrational delay оf tasks. On а conscious level уоu mіght wаnt а specific result аnd уоu knоw whаt соurѕе оf action tо take, but ѕtіll уоu remain immobilized. Thе failure tо act іѕ whаt kеерѕ уоu whеrе уоu are. Thеrе аrе mаnу definitions оf procrastination, but thеу аll ѕееm tо point tо оnе common characteristic іn behavior, оr rather, lack оf behavior. Whеn уоu procrastinate уоu аrе quіtе literally stuck bеtwееn advancing аnd staying whеrе уоu are. Consciously уоu wаnt tо advance, but subconsciously уоu wаnt tо stay. Thе frustrating thіng аbоut procrastination іѕ thаt аlthоugh уоu knоw whаt уоu want, аnd еvеn hоw tо gеt it, уоu ѕtіll remain immobilized аnd unable tо act оn it.

Millionaire Rule #9: Be An Entrepreneur

entrepreneur

Being an entrepreneur takes a pure drive, but it can be done. You have to have the desire to succeed. A good example of the entrepreneur spirit can be found in Joe Palko and Scott Sanfilippo from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. When they became ferret owners in 1994, they soon realized there were very few pet stores that carried food or toys for ferrets. Most retail pet stores were reluctant to carry product for this group of animals that seemed to have such a small share of the market.

Joe and Scott started TheFerretStore.com to serve ferret owners like themselves and worked on the business every night after work before devoting themselves to the business full time in 1999. Today, that has over 1,500 ferret products and has expanded their company to include AnimalCages.com, PetCareCentral.com, CritterCentral.com, TheKittyStore.com, and RabbitCentral.com. They continue to develop a specialty market with more supplies that are sold online for popular pets and small animals.

They certainly had the desire to succeed. Starting a business with a vision in your mind to actually making money takes relentlessness effort every day in order to move things forward. It doesn’t work well if someone else is cheering you on from the outside. That type of motivation will fade, especially when it starts to get hard running your own business. Your persistence and determination have to come from within you. Successful entrepreneurs will see progress every day and work hard to make that happen. Continue reading →

Why It’s So Important to Pursue Your Dreams?

dreamlife
“Dare to live the life you have dreamed of yourself.
Go forward and make your dreams come true.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
What are you afraid of? When is the last time you
took a chance and did something outside of your
comfort zone?
I completely understand that it is scary to take
risks and dive into unfamiliar territory. Ask
yourself though; are you happy with your present
circumstances?
Do you ever feel like life is set in the rinse and
repeat cycle?  Wake up each morning to your alarm,
shower, have a quick bite and then off to work.
You adjust to this cycle, it’s fine for a while
until you start thinking “I do the same thing over
and over again”. I know there are sooo many of us
out there who are searching for more.
What if you actually understood how important it
is to pursue your dreams? Would you still be where
you are right now?

Purpose = Freedom

purpose is freedom
It’s fair to say that if you don’t know your purpose in
life, you won’t be spending much time working on it. So
what will you end up doing with your working time instead?
Three things: 1) Working on your needs, 2) Working on other
people needs, 3) Working on other people’s purposes.
If you don’t know your purpose, the limit of the work you do
for yourself will be stuck at the level of need, which at
best has the potential to grow into greed. Not particularly
fulfilling spending your whole working life this way… Try it
yourself for a few decades if you don’t believe me, and then
look at the passionless shell that stares back at you from
your mirror.
As you work with/for other people, most likely you’ll be
putting lots of effort into satisfying other people’s needs
and greeds: your boss, your customers, your company’s
investors, etc. Even in your free time, you’ll be working to
fulfill the desires of advertisers who want you to watch TV
and buy stuff. Again, not particularly satisfying, although
you may be thrown a few bones by your benefactors, such as
the “gift” of working on some interesting projects. This
kind of life will ultimately make you want to stand up and
shout, “What exactly is the point of all of this?” But if
you actually do that, you’ll only get blank stares in
return. There is no point.
Now if you’re very lucky, you may get the chance to work for
someone or some organization which is itself focused on
achieving a conscious purpose. However, there’s no telling
what that purpose might be. If you don’t know your own
purpose, you can’t consciously choose to work for someone
whose purpose aligns with yours except by accident or
chance, and the odds of alignment are low. So there’s a good
chance you’ll be working hard to achieve a purpose you don’t
agree with. For example, if you join the military, you may
be put to use to achieve some big purpose, but what exactly
will it be? Most likely, in such situations, you’ll be given
a purpose to achieve that isn’t what you’d choose
consciously for yourself. Fulfilling to spend your whole
life this way? Not likely, but it’s at least a decent path
for people who don’t like to think much — others will take
care of all the thinking for you (and benefit greatly from
all your thoughtless doing).

Customer Power

customer

Another tricky area for marketers is the degree to which they should accept what customers tell them. Some customers will tell a company what they think it wants to hear, especially if it is rewarding them for being so open. Some will pay little attention to the truth of their answers, and others may deliberately lie – perhaps overstating a criticism to make sure it is not ignored.

One outcome of taking everything the customer offers at face value is that supposedly “customer-led” brands begin to adopt similar values in an attempt to reflect the target market’s values and lifestyles. products and services as diverse as airline travel and food could feasibly share the attributes “empowering” and “approachable”. In the case of an airline, research groups would have talked about the importance of being in control of their travel arrangements need to be altered. By comparison, a convenience food brand could reflect the empowerment lifestyle attribute by offering consumers good food without the effort. Approachability could relate to care-lines giving consumers the option to call up with nutritional or recipe queries. The unique selling proposition is therefore buried by the desire to appeal to the customer.

The Power of Imagination

imagination

Did you know that you have a magic power? Imagination is the most powerful tool that you have in your toolkit when it comes to getting the life that you want. Your imagination is a powerful part of your consciousness. It allows you to transform your life in ways that you could never imagine. If you are feeling down, then you could imagine sitting in a lush, grassy field in the middle of spring with the warm wind brushing your skin and the sun shining down on your face. This could be just the thing that you need to lighten your mood. You can imagine anything that you want, and in your mind, you can make it real.

This is key to putting your positive thoughts into action toward manifesting the life that you want.

So how can your imagination help you to manifest the life that you want? Your imagination can help you to create new products, start a business, think up strategies, and most of all, create the goals and desires that you want to have fulfilled to have the life that you want. Of course, the best thing about your imagination is that once you have imagined something, it becomes a part of your memory. The combination of your memory and your imagination can be wondrous. Together, these two parts of your consciousness can work to create a virtual world that has no rules, no boundaries, and no restrictions.

Once you have granted yourself full access to this world, you can start to build your new life there, and then move the things that you want to the real world as you go through the steps needed to make them happen.

You can also use your imagination to help you remember the things that you normally would not be able to remember. There is something magical about imagining something that helps to ingrain it into your memory in an indelible way. Let’s take a moment to look at an example. For now, just read what is here. We will work with it more in a bit: Continue reading →

Are Your Goals Important to You?

goals

Are Your Goals Important to You?

Are You Spending Enough Time Working on them?

After you have created your written list of your goals and taken some time to explore it deeper and expand what you have established, you need to take the time to set priorities for them. Use a point system to rate each goal on a scale of 1-5. Items rated 1 are the most important. Items rated 5, of course, are the least. It’s okay to have more than one in each category but make sure that you are putting the ratings on carefully. Once you have completed this, you will have priorities that you can use to focus your attention on the things that matter most.

It’s simple when you think about it. Understanding what you want is the first step; making it clear what each item means to you and how you want it to be when it comes to be is next; then set them in priority order so that you know where to start with each one and what’s most important in the short and long term. You must not only state these things but also make sure that you clarify them as far as needed to where they are able to be understood clearly. Continue reading →
